BGW Home Birth Care serves women an hour and half radius from Strasburg, VA. Located downtown Strasburg, one block off of Rt. 11. Doran Richards has attended mostly home & some hospital births for over 10 years. Her ministry has been up and running since the year 2000. Serving women in home birth is an extension of her ministry. The BGW Home Birth Care team perceive birth as a normal life function and for low-risk, healthy women, it is a safe option for pregnancy and childbirth. BGW Home Birth Care also offers, study groups, birth circles, information nights and Red Tent events. Consultation if free - call to set up an appointment.

Sacred Mountain Midwifery School strives to teach the science and art of midwifery by offering a traditional approach that emphasizes apprenticeship-style training and experiential learning through lecture and hands-on experience. Our curriculum is applicable to a wide student range from inspired to seasoned - and requires no prerequisites. Our approach is to midwife the student into midwifery. Our student body is small so we can provide intensive small group learning and individualized training as well as growth toward individual goals. Our curriculum is based on NARM's PEP-process and the Practical Skills Guide.
