Birth
Setting
 |
Even before
you choose your care provider, you may want to decide where you would
like your baby to be born. You may choose a birthing center, a hospital
or your home. Remember, you do have a choice. To help you decide,
you may want to tour birthing centers and hospitals in your area.
You may want to talk to other women about where their babies were
born. If everyone you know has had a baby in the hospital, you may
want to attend a Birth Matters meeting. There are women throughout
Virginia who deliver their babies outside of a hospital and the scientific
evidence proves that planned, midwife-attended homebirths and birthing
center births are safe for mother and baby.
