Birth Matters Winchester usually holds meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings are usually held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 W Boscawen St in Old Town Winchester. Please note different location in July. We begin to gather at 6:30 pm and educational talks begin at 6:45pm.
Meetings are free and anyone interested in learning more about childbirth and childbirth options is invited to attend. We have a lending library for all Birth Matters members. Please call Julie at 540-327-2012 for more information. Parking is available on the street or in the parking lot behind the church.

Tuesday, January 10 We had trouble viewing our scheduled movie, so Dr. Juliana Fehr, CNM jumped in with a great talk about birth in general and baby's position during pregnancy and labor. The movie has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 17.

Join us for an extra meeting this month. We will view one of Ricky Lakes' new films, then discuss it.

Karen Nguyen, CNM and Misty Ward (childbirth educator) will fill us in on the new wing at the hospital and how it will impact labor and delivery there. Karen, our hospital's only midwife, will also discuss how she supports women interested in having a natural birth in the hospital.
Tuesday, March 13 The 3 Ps of Labor
We had a special request at our January meeting for Juliana's talk. Juliana Fehr (PhD, CNM, Director of Midwifery Program at Shenandoah University) will explain the baby's journey from uterus to your loving arms. This is a talk Juliana gives to parents, midwives and physicians. It is based on scientific evidence, Juliana's love of birth and her years of experience catching babies.
Tuesday, April 10 - Dads' Talk
Partners are always welcome at our meetings, but this one is especially for them. we will a panel of Dads who will share their birth stories, their fears, joys and concerns. This is our fourth year of Dads' Talk and is frequently mentioned as one of our members favorite evenings.
