Birth Matters Peninsula serves the Virginia Peninsula, including: Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown, Poquoson, Matthews, Gloucester and surrounding areas. We are mothers and mothers to be, childbirth educators, midwives, doulas, stay at home moms, working moms, women who would some day like to be moms. We are an open, community group who celebrates birth. 

We typically host one gathering per month in Newport News--alternating a birth circle meeting with a topic in our educational series.

We host a Birth Circle every month.  It is an informal gathering of mothers and mothers-to-be. We hold that pregnancy is a normal, healthy life process that should be honored and respected. We dialogue about informed choices for birthing women and their families and seek to support each other in our childbearing years. We share our experiences, our resources, our birth stories, our hopes, our fears, our questions, our concerns, and our joys. For information on the next Birth Circle, please click here . 

Some months we will also host a community event or educational series.  The educational series hosts a variety of topics including: Doula Care, Celebrating Midwifery, Breastfeeding Discussions, Chiropractic Care, Movie Screenings and more.
