Free Fall Community Birth Series

Please join Birth Matters Charlottesville for couples-friendly birth classes and discussions. Bring your thoughts and questions, we focus on the issues that are of greatest concern to you. Events are held at Body, Mind, Spirit in the Preston Plaza shopping center.

Monday, October 17, 7-9 pm

Birth Circle - Monthly gathering of women who share birth stories and discuss questions and concerns surrounding pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period, and anything else that comes to mind.  Held the third Monday of every month.

Tuesday, October 18, 7-9 pm

Comfort in Labor - Come learn various methods to help you cope during labor. We'll watch videos, try out different methods, and meet local doulas (labor assistants).

Friday, October 21, 7-9 pm

Movie: Guerilla Midwife – Join us for this awe-inspiring movie of the gentlest of births under the most extreme conditions (in refugee camps, among tsunami wreckage, just to name a few) from all around the world.  Babysitting provided.

Monday, October 24, 7-9 pm

Postpartum Night – We are lucky to live in a town with so much support for families after the baby comes.  Find out all that's available, and we'll even teach you how to sling your baby, swaddle them, and more!

Tuesday, October 25, 7-9 pm

The Power of Birth Stories – Join Therese Hak-Khun, former Executive Director of Birth Matters Virginia and labor assistant extraordinaire, for a workshop on the art and method of discovering birth stories.  Highly recommended for anyone who supports women in birth.  Hone your listening skills and practice your facilitation skills.

Partners, family, and friends are welcome to come to film and discussion nights.  Birth Circle is reserved for women only, for greater freedom of discussion.

If you have any questions, please contact us at Birth Matters. We hope to see you!
